Marcius Chan, Marketing and Outreach Specialist
Marcius Chan joins us this summer as Marketing and Outreach Specialist. If you’ve been around for a while, you may remember Marcius from his prior internships with us in both service and marketing. With a fresh new Business Information Systems degree from Oregon State University, a background in customer service, and knowledge from his internships, Marcius is just the guy to execute our outreach efforts and help grow our community. After three stints as an intern, we’re absolutely thrilled to bring Marcius on full time.
Marcius first came into the Portland Internetworks orbit back in 2018 when Doug presented to Marcius’ Business 101 class at Portland State University. Marcius connected with Doug afterward, came to a few of our events, and eventually, joined us as an intern in 2020 during his third year at OSU.
Outside of the office, Marcius loves to go salmon fishing, hiking, longboarding, and the occasional EDM festival with his friends. He says the best EDM artists he has seen live include Subfocus, Dimension, Sullivan King, and Marten Horger. He loves a big ol’ bowl of spaghetti, and his two favorite pastime events are painting Warhammer 40k miniatures and duking it out with his friends on Counter-Strike.
Marcius has always had a deep love for any form of technology, which made him a natural fit for IT. He loved tinkering with technology from a young age. (He has flashed a version of Android onto an old HP Touchpad, messed with the internals of his old Wii, and put custom firmware on his Nintendo Switch in the past.) As a kid, Marcius also took pride in building computers for himself and his family.
